Gynaecological Scans
Gynaecological scans are performed after referral from your GP or consultant. The scan will initially be done through your tummy and we ask that you have a full bladder for this scan.
Sometimes, your pelvic organs are not easily seen with this scan and an internal scan (vaginal scan with an empty bladder) might be offered.
The vaginal scanning probe is small and causes minimal discomfort. A vaginal scan will be offered if necessary and only with your full consent.
If this is not possible, we will make an appointment at a mutually convenient time.
