Can I empty my bladder before the scan?
Yes.The womb moves out of the pelvis after 12 weeks of pregnancy and everything that needs to be seen can be seen without a full bladder
Can my baby feel the ultrasound?
No. The ultrasound scan is performed with the help of high frequency sound waves. If you can’t hear or feel it, the baby can’t.
Is ultrasound safe?
Medical ultrasound has been in use for 50 years. Obstetric ultrasound has been used for over 30 years. There are no known harmful effects to mother or baby.
